Ismael “Izzy” Collazo serves as President of the National Federation of the Blind of South Dakota. A longtime advocate for the blind and disabled community, Izzy works to expand opportunities through legislative advocacy, community outreach, accessibility initiatives, leadership development, and public education. He also serves on the Board of the National Federation of the Blind Diabetes Action Network and is committed to improving accessibility for people who are blind, particularly in diabetes technology and healthcare. Izzy believes that blindness is not what holds people back—lack of opportunity and accessibility does.
